The volunteer members of YPO create educational books for children. Each book describes the plot and includes some of the music from a famous opera. The books are FCAT friendly and are published and distributed by YPO to elementary school children in Miami-Dade County & Broward County.

A typical Opera Funtime has short biographies of the composer and librettist, an introduction to the opera’s main characters, a plot summary, information about the music, a craft activity related to the opera, an act-it-out scene from the opera, and many games and puzzles to reinforce the information given.
