The 2013 Teachers’ Workshop was held on Friday, October 25th. Details on the 2014 workshop will be available after June 30th of this year.
Each fall season, the Young Patronesses of the Opera holds a Teachers’ Workshop which trains over 100 Miami-Dade County music teachers from public, private and parochial schools on how to broaden a child’s horizon by exposing them to opera in the classroom. We work closely with the Miami-Dade County School board to offer a quality program. Teachers use valuable lessons in history, literature, theater, creative and critical writing as well as music appreciation. The day includes presentations from an FCAT specialist, YPO’s Educator of Note winner, performances from Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artists, and a delicious lunch!
