Girl Scouts Workshop

Each year, the Young Patronesses of the Opera holds a Girl Scout Workshop where girl scouts from Miami-Dade County gather together to learn about opera. We’re proud to have built a close relationship with the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida through this program.

We provide free opera education in an enriching environment to young Girl Scouts, which enhances their awareness and familiarity with operatic music.
During the workshop scouts earn an Opera Patch by participating in dance, music, make-up and staging lessons centered around one of the Florida Grand Opera’s performances in the upcoming season. The girls practice acting out a script and are provided delightful costumes to bring their performance to life.

Girl Scout Workshop — Our Next Workshop

We host the workshop in the spring of each year. If you are a troop leader of a Girl Scout and would like to attend the workshop with your troop, please contact the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida. All attendees must sign up with the Council prior to the event.
